Cowlitz River Fishing Report 6-09-2017


 

Tacoma power is reporting that they have recovered 806 Columbia River spring Chinook adults, 52 spring Chinook jacks, three winter-run steelhead adults, one winter-run steelhead jack , 20 summer-run steelhead adults and nine cutthroat trout in four days of operation at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator.

The bulk of these fish are being released at back into the Cowlitz river at Packwood and Lake Scawena. The fishing should also still be pretty fair at the Barrier dam, but reports have been that the catch rates are pretty slow. However there are Columbia River guided fishing opportunities available.
