Cowlitz Fishing Report

Last week, Tacoma Power employees recovered 174 winter-run steelhead adults during five days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator.

During the past week, Tacoma Power released four winter-run steelhead adults into the Cispus River near Yellow Jacket creek, nine winter-run steelhead adults into Lake Scanewa near Randle, and three winter-run steelhead adults into the Tilton River.

River flows at Mayfield Dam are approximately 6,540 cubic feet per second on Monday, March 15, 2021. Water visibility is 9 feet and the water temperature is 42.3 F. River flows could change at any time so boaters and anglers should remain alert for this possibility.

This concludes the Cowlitz River fishing report

Oregon walleye fishing guides are currently offering Columbia River walleye fishing trips in some sections of the main stem but the weather is not ideal if you’re not interested in fishing during cold weather conditions.
